Dear Friends of the Freedom of Speech and Press,

Connection Newspaper is a place where we can all come together and read and be heard.  In a time where politics and the media have become so polarized and technology has made news feeds tailored to an individual's tastes, we no longer hear every and all sides to an issue.  The changes to print media have heralded a shift in our culture, and I am not sure it is always a good thing.

There is a subtle importance to listening to different sides, hearing about someone's passions for something you never thought of or disagree with.  It humanizes the "other side," it makes us kinder and more compassionate and it broadens our own understanding.
